Position Summary  

The Water Sports Attendant plays a vital role in delivering outstanding guest experiences at the Marina at South Seas Resort. This position involves assisting guests with water sports rentals and activities including kayaking, wave runner use, and other recreational experiences. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, safety-minded, and enthusiastic about working in a beautiful coastal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests with kayak, wave runner, paddleboard, and other watercraft rentals.
  • Deliver safety briefings and operational instructions to all users of equipment.
  • Support the launching and docking of watercraft while ensuring guest safety.
  • Monitor guests on the water and enforce safety and resort policies.
  • Conduct light maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment and marina areas.
  • Respond to emergencies on the water using proper safety and rescue procedures.
  • Keep accurate records of rentals, waivers, and equipment usage.
  • Provide local water condition updates and educate guests on marine life and safety.
  • Support other marina and resort staff as needed, including fueling assistance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in water sports or marina/recreation operations.
  • Strong skills in kayaking and wave runner operation.
  • Knowledge of water safety; rescue/swimming proficiency required.
  • Boat driving experience a plus (Captain's License preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to become certified).
  • Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
  • Ability to swim and lift/move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  • Availability on weekends, holidays, and during peak resort hours.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor, waterfront work environment with exposure to sun, heat, wind, and marine conditions.
  • Physically active position requiring mobility, strength, and extended periods of standing.
